As many as 62 deserving women of Bahawalpur District received cows and buffaloes under the Punjab government’s Ghareeb Parwar scheme.
For the purpose, a ceremony was held in which Provincial Minister Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar participated as chief guest.
While addressing the participants, the minister said the government was providing respectable employment to these women by distributing animals among them.
He said, “The animals provided to the women are of high breed while veterinary doctors would provide free treatment to the cattle.”
On the occasion, Livestock Additional Secretary Sardar Aashiq Hussain said the buffaloes and cows had been insured and in case of animal’s death, the women should inform the department so that a replacement could be given again for free.
