Paksitan’s new President Dr Alvi receives felicitations from China, KSA

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday called on newly-sworn in President Dr Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

The Chinese diplomat led a delegation including three ministerial level officials.

Congratulating Alvi on taking the reins as the president, FM Yi conveyed well wishes of Chinese leadership for the new government.

He said he was honoured to to be the first foreign diplomat to have met the president after his inauguration.

The foreign minister underscored the importance of the strategic cooperation between the two countries and expressed his hope to bolster bilateral ties.

The Chinese leader also appreciated the constructive dialogue he recently had with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

President Alvi thanked FM Yi for Beijing’s goodwill message and doubled down on Islamabad’s desire to deepen the bilateral relations.

The PTI leader also pointed out the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project for the country.

Saudi envoy felicitates Alvi

Separately, Saudi Arabia’s Information Minister Awwad Saleh al Awwad met President Alvi to congratulate him on becoming the country’s president.

The Saudi minister is on a two-day goodwill visit. The visiting dignitary conveyed felicitations and goodwill wishes of the Saudi leadership and their desire to work closely with the new leadership in Pakistan and to forge closer ties.

Alvi, who took oath of office earlier in the day, welcomed the Saudi dignitary and expressed his deep appreciation for the warm message of felicitations by the Saudi royal family and the kingdom’s people.
